It’s that time of the year again – the air is getting crisp and cool, the leaves are starting to change color, and best of all, it’s fall wedding season! Caitlin & Matt wanted a gorgeous autumn wedding, and when they saw the Franklin Commons venue, they fell in love.
September’s mild weather makes for the perfect outdoor wedding, and so does our romantic Courtyard! Surrounded by lush greenery and open skies, the couple said their “I Do’s”. There was not a single dry eye in sight!
After the ceremony, guests were led to our beautiful Campus Walk for cocktail hour. Delicious Hors d’Oeuvres courtesy of our friends at Drexelbrook Catering got everybody’s appetite going.
Wait staff carried platters of delicious starters including Grilled Smoked Chicken, Bacon and Pepper Jack Cheese, Coconut Shrimp with a Mango Horseradish Puree, and Vanilla Salt Miniature Beef Wellingtons with Horseradish Cream. There was also a Mashed Potato Bar and Slider Station which both proved to be popular!
As cocktail hour came to close, we opened Franklin Hall. Our spacious venue, with its tall ceilings and huge windows, was decorated with a mix of elegant and rustic decor. Tables were draped in white linens with navy blue napkins for a pop of color. Black lantern centerpieces and wood accents added a dash of rustic charm.
Twinkly lights hung around Franklin Hall made the decor that much more romantic. The couple shared their first dance under the lights – love was truly in the air!
For the First Course, guests were served a “Steak House” Salad which included Iceberg Lettuce Half with Diced Caramelized Onion, Crispy Pancetta Crumbled Blue Cheese and Red Wine Vinaigrette. This delicious dish made everyone hungry for the Entree! Guests had a choice of Chicken Piccata, a Roasted Boneless Breast with Lemon, Capers, Parsley and White Wine Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes with Seasonal Vegetables or Duet of Sliced Tenderloin of Beef topped with Wild Mushrooms & Caramelized Onions & Jumbo Lump Crabcake with Chipotle Aioli.
Everyone made their way to the dance floor and danced until they worked up an appetite again just in time for the cake cutting ceremony!
After being treated to out Pinterest-worthy cake provided by Masters Baker, guests could also help themselves to more sweet treats from the Signature Sundae Bar set up by Drexelbrook. Everyone filled their bowls with scoops of Hand-Spun Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Creams served with Hot Fudge and Strawberry Sauces and a number of other toppings including Chopped Walnuts, Cherries, and Whipped Cream.
It didn’t end there! To make sure nobody would go home empty-handed, Drexelbrook also provided complimentary mini treats for guests to savor on the ride home.
Celebrating Caitlin & Matt’s wedding was the perfect way to ring in Fall wedding season. We had the best time hosting their wedding and we wish the newlyweds a beautiful life together!
