No matter what your affiliation might be, the past several years have made it clear that it’s important to stay involved in the political scene.

The Chester County Democratic Committee is well aware of this, and wanted to get a jump start on fundraising for upcoming elections. Their “Full Steam Ahead” fundraiser event was held at Franklin Commons last week. It was the perfect event venue for such a groundbreaking evening.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Treasurer Joe Torsella, and several other elected officials and candidates were in attendance. The highlight of the event was when former Maryland Governor and 2016 presidential candidate Martin O’Malley was announced as the special guest speaker for the evening.

We wanted to make sure that the food for the night was as amazing as the guest list, so we asked our friends at Drexelbrook Catering to pull out all the stops when preparing the menu.

After snacking on an International Cheese Station during cocktail hour, the guests were led into Franklin Hall, where plates of Butter Lettuce Salad with Roasted Pears, Aged Cheddar, Candied Walnuts, and Citrus Vinaigrette were awaiting them.

For the main course, we served a duet of Brandywine Chicken pan-seared with Rosemary, Garlic, Lemon, & Dijon Mustard, topped with Wild Mushrooms, and Atlantic Salmon pan-seared with Mustard Maple Glaze. Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes and a Chef’s choice of Seasonal Vegetables were on the side of these delectable dishes.

Of course, we didn’t forget about dessert. Guests enjoyed Crêpe Flambé: crêpes filled with Baked Cinnamon Apples & Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce. They were as delicious as they sound!

The evening was a huge success, and the CCDC raised plenty of funds to help their candidates with upcoming campaigns. We hope to see the Committee again for plenty of fundraiser events in the future.
