When you’re invited to a wedding where the bride is an artist, you’re guaranteed to be wowed by plenty of DIY wedding decor!
Amanda and Blake were a beautiful couple, with an equally beautiful wedding held at Franklin Commons. With Amanda being an art teacher, and Blake adding his own personal touches to the ceremony, creativity abounded throughout the day.
The ceremony trellis was made the day before by Blake and his soon-to-be father-in-law. They worked together to fashion large tree branches into a gorgeous frame, under which the bride and groom exchanged their vows.
After they said their “I do’s,” the bride and groom met their guests for cocktail hour in our spacious Campus Walk. They sampled butlered hors d’oeuvres of Sea Scallops wrapped in Pepper Bacon, Miniature Beef Wellington with Horseradish Cream, and many more scrumptious options. They also enjoyed two interactive stations, laden with a cheese display and a Pasta Bar.
As cocktail hour ended, the guests moved on to Franklin Hall. Amanda used watercolor paints for her seating cards, which delighted the guests. As they found their tables, they were greeted by handmade table numbers, constructed out of wood, rocks, and wire. The same large wildflowers that made up the bride’s bouquet also adorned the tables as beautiful centerpieces.
The guests enjoyed a Mixed Field Green Salad with Candied Walnuts & Raspberry Vinaigrette. The salad was followed by two options for a main cours: Panko & Parmesan-Crusted Chicken topped with Sautéed Spinach, Mushrooms & Onions served over Orzo Pasta & drizzled with Tomato Basil Sauce, or a Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon with Mustard Maple Glaze.
For the vegetarians, the chef whipped up some delicious Asian Vegetable Dumplings with Sweet Chili Sauce on a Soba Noodle Bed.
With their stomachs full of delicious food, the guests made their way to the dance floor, where they danced the night away to live entertainment from BVT Live’s Jellyroll. What a beautiful way to end a beautiful night!
