Jack’s Bar Mitzvah: Bring On The Pop Culture!

Bar MitzvahIf you thought you had seen every bar or bat mitzvah theme there is, think again!

Jack Ores’ family held his bar mitzvah at Franklin Commons in November. Jack is such a huge movie buff, he couldn’t pick just one movie to base his big party on.

The solution: use them all in a pop culture-themed bar mitzvah that Jack’s guests would never forget!

Our Art Gallery was lined with pictures of Jack illustrated into scenes from all of his favorite movies and shows. From scary Zombie Jack in a scene from The Walking Dead, to a Simpsons-inspired cartoon version of Jack. He even had a photo of himself posing as one of Banksy’s muses!

The décor throughout Franklin Hall differed from table to table. Star Wars, Lego, and Batman were just a few of the awesome themed tables. There was a giant balloon arch which spelled out Jack’s name, accompanied by Spiderman & Batman balloon sculptures.

The children enjoyed Hors d’Oeuvres of Mozzarella Sticks, Pizza Squares and many more youth favorites. The adults were served their very own butlered hors d’oeuvres of Seared Tuna and Black Bean Quesadillas. All of the guests enjoyed Black Angus Burger Sliders, a Boardwalk French Fries stations, a Sushi Bar, and a Risotto Station.

The Children’s Dinner Buffet included yummy classic favorites such as Panko Crusted Chicken Fingers, Penne Pasta, and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes. The adults indulged in a seated dinner with the choice of Chicken Marsala and Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon.

Of course, dessert was the favorite part of the night for the kids. Jack had a “Create Your Own Sundae Bar” with Vanilla Ice Cream, Warm Brownies, and plenty of candy toppings.

As a special treat for the adults, our partner Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center provided a beautiful display of mini desserts, including Strawberry Shortcake, S’mores, Creamy Lemon Mousse, and Toasted Coconut, just to name a few!

The amazing pop culture-themed cake was created by The Master’s Baker and enjoyed by all of the guests.

The night was filled with great food and awesome music. Jack even got the chance to take over the DJ booth for a while!

Congratulations to Jack for this amazing accomplishment. We were so happy to have celebrated your special day with you.
