Franklin Commons recently hosted Emma and Jon’s stunning rustic, champagne gold wedding that is sure to top the Pinterest boards!
When the lovebirds contacted us with their wedding ideas, we couldn’t have been more excited. The warm weather and blue skies makes it the best time for a wedding, and our venue fit the theme beautifully. Franklin Hall’s floor to ceiling windows brings the outdoors in. High ceilings plus copper and wooden details all add up to the perfect venue for a rustic wedding.
After the couple said their “I Do’s” at St. Joseph’s University, they headed to Franklin Commons with all 100+ guests for the reception.
Cocktail hour began at our Campus Walk, where we set up Cornhole boards and a huge game of Jenga on the grass. Guests strolled around and explored food options, courtesy of Drexelbrook Catering. The selection seemed endless as guests were presented trays upon trays of hors d’oeuvres! Favorites included Bay Scallops wrapped in Pepper Bacon, Miniature Brioche with Braised Short Rib and Brie Cheese, and Grilled Bruschetta with Seasonal Topping and Balsamic Drizzle.
Our slider station was exceptionally popular – generous portions of Meatball with Warm Fontina Cheese were being filled onto plates. To top it off, butlers from our friends at Drexelbrook Catering made sure the champagne was flowing!
When the Franklin Hall doors opened up, it looked like a fairytale dream come true. Twinkly lights wrapped each column across the dance floor. Round tables were covered in ivory linens and adorned with lanterns, wood details, and champagne gold plating.
Guests couldn’t stop buzzing about the decorations! Once the chatter winded down, the bride and groom shared their first dance (did we mention how beautiful they looked!?).
After unforgettable wedding toasts that could warm anyone’s heart, it was on to the first course: Shredded Kale and Quinoa with Diced Tomato, Golden Raisins, Shaved Parmesan and Lemon Vinaigrette.
For the entree, guests could choose between Hunter Style Chicken, a delicious Pan-Seared Boneless Breast of Chicken served with Wild Mushrooms, Shallots, White Wine, Forrest Herbs and Tomato, or Atlantic Salmon Pan-Seared with Sweet & Sour Chili Glaze. Both came with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes & Asparagus. There were also Asian Vegetable Dumplings as a vegetarian option.
Satisfied with all that good food, everyone was ready to dance away! This helped the guests work up an appetite for the sweet treats that were about to come.
The wedding cake provided by The Masters Baker was almost too beautiful to eat but too delicious to resist! For those who still had a sweet tooth after the cake cutting, we had a Donut Wall with a selection of Frosted Donuts to choose from. The desserts paired amazingly with drinks from our Coffee Bar, which had options of Whipped Cream, Rock Candy Sticks, and Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans.
As the night wound down, guests were served mini-treats such as Philly Pretzels to enjoy on the ride home.
Emma and Jon have that visible newlywed glow, and Franklin Commons was so happy to be a part of their wedding journey. There were enough beautiful memories from this day to last a lifetime!
