Franklin Commons partners with The Drexelbrook team for gourmet catering at our venue. Our unique and artistic venue is perfect for couples looking for a dynamic wedding space that is a step away from traditional. Rob and Marybeth chose Franklin Commons for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony and reception.
Mary Beth gave us some insight on her wedding day and how everything started out for the two:
“Rob and I met in 2007 at Wyomissing Jr. Sr. High School, I was a Freshman and Rob was a Senior. We met through a friend who ran track with Rob. After a few months of Rob asking me to hang out and politely turning him down more times than I can count, I agreed to hang out with him. He’s very persistent. Little did I know, that night I shared my first kiss with my future husband! That being said I wasn’t overly interested in him, I was young and he was leaving soon for college in Upstate New York.
Fast Forward to my senior year in High School (2010-2011)and Rob returns to the Reading Area to finish his undergrad at Albright. We reconnect and once again Rob persistently asks me to go out with him on a date and I finally agree.
We officially started dating on July 9th 2011. I went off to college in January 2012 at Millersville University. While not far from Reading, we spent 4 years of our relationship mostly apart and would make the most of our weekends and summers off to make our relationship work.
In 2016 we bought our first house together in the Pottsgrove area. This was a big step and we were enjoying every minute of it together! I spent 2 years looking for every little sign that Rob would propose, unexpected date nights, dates to my favorite restaurants, dates to my favorite places, and constantly looking for a ring hidden in our house. Finally, on July 2, 2018 Robbie proposed to me in our house! I walked in from work to find him down on one knee with a see of candles behind him and the perfect engagement ring in his hand!
We want to thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you and your staff did for us! It was such a magical night!”
